Former Santa Monica City Manager Joins Management Partners Firm

Rod Gould has got a new gig.

Joining Management Partners as a vice president for management in the firm’s west coast office. Management Partners is a professional management consulting firm specializing in helping local government organizations improve performance. They assist hundreds of local governments across the U.S. and California. The City of Santa Monica hired the firm a handful of times while Gould worked for the city.

Gould expressed enthusiasm over the new position saying, “I’m eager to join such a committed and expert group of management consultants dedicated to excellence in local government, and I view it as another stage of service.”

Gould’s impressive work with the City of Santa Monica caught the firm’s attention, as they describe him as having led Santa Monica through a successful recovery from the recession.

Santa Monica city council did not delay in filling the city manager vacancy left by Gould. Council announced a unanimous decision to appoint Rick Cole, current Los Angeles deputy mayor for budget and innovation, to manage SaMo, Wednesday night.
