Crescent City’s Top Administrator Heading to Galt, California

Crescent City’s city manager Eugene Palazzo made a bold career move late last month, officially resigning to accept the same position in Galt, California.

Palazzo has worked for Crescent City since Aug. 2011, with a local government career spanning more than 27 years. The Galt City Council unanimously appointed him Dec. 15 and he is expected to start on or before March 1. He is replacing Jason Behrmann, who stepped down in August to become assistant city manager of Elk Grove.

Palazzo is making the move to be closer to his family.

“My wife still works in South Lake Tahoe and we tend to go back and forth,” Palazzo said. “I looked at the opportunity and it fits with a lot of the skill sets that I have and the location is good for me with the proximity to my wife and my parents and the kids. It was kind of difficult not to take them up on that opportunity and apply.”
