Open Data and SB 272 Free Webinar January 20

Last October Governor Brown approved SB 272 (Hertzberg), adding a section to the California Public Records Act and requiring cities, counties and spceial districts to create catalogs of their data "Enterprise Systems." The law took effect this month and gives agencies just six months, until July 1 of this year, to complete these first of their kind catalogs. 

SB 272 is part of a larger movement on "Open Data" and the management of public innromation in the digital age. New laws and regulations are certain to follow this session, and CityNews is pleased to offer a webinar on January 20 with leading experts on both SB 272 and the open data issue as it relates to cities and counties in Calfiornia. City Attorneys, IT Directors and management are encoruages to attend.
