Lemoore Councilwoman Arrested After Brief Chase
Lemoore Councilmember Holly Blair was arrested Wednesday, June 5, as reported by YourCentralValley.com. The publication states Blair has been charged with evading a peace officer, reckless driving, child endangerment, assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting arrest.
Police spotted Blair driving erratically in a parking lot at around 2 p.m. and attempted to get her to stop. Blair allegedly refused, drove past officers, and began blowing through stop signs. The police soon witnessed a child sitting in the backseat.
Blair eventually stopped the car and was arrested. She was booked at the Kings County Jail with bail set at $195,000.
ABC News reports that Blair’s attorney Marguerite Melo believes it’s possible her client suffered a medical episode.
"She's well-respected. She's a councilwoman. She has no prior criminal history, never has done anything wrong in the past. We think this was a medical emergency that took place, and perhaps folks overreacted over it."
