Redwood City Hires New HR Director

Redwood City has a new head of Human Resources and she’s worked in the field for more than 20 years. On Friday, the city announced the appointment of Michelle Katsuyoshi, Human Resources Director in Morgan Hill since 2016. She starts on Sept. 16.

"I am honored to join the city of Redwood City and excited to be part of a team culture that is committed to providing the highest quality services to the community," Katsuyoshi said. "Redwood City has proven to be a dynamic leader at the forefront of best practices by encouraging innovation and creativity."

Katsuyoshi will oversee a number of changes to Redwood City’s HR services, most of them centered around modernization and simplification. She did that in Morgan Hill too, introducing new technology, streamlining the process for job application receipts, and more.

Katsuyoshi previously held key HR positions in Los Gatos, Sunnyvale and San Jose, and served as an HR consultant to the City of Santa Clara.
