Rio Vista Police Chief to Retire

The days are numbered for Rio Vista’s embattled police chief.

Fox 40 reports that City Manager Robert Hickey has confirmed Dan Dailey's contract is not being renewed. It will expire at the end of this month, with Hickey saying Chief Dailey has “elected” to retire.

The Solano County city has seen protests since February by community members pining for the chief’s ouster.

Dailey has been plagued by allegations of discrimination against female officers. There have also been questions about his background investigation, which was conducted by a commander not authorized or licensed to do so. That commander has since stepped down along with two police sergeants and a council member.
