San Diego Town of Campo Goes Up for Sale
If you’ve ever wanted to own your own town, this is your chance. The bulk of a 16-acre community in San Diego County known as Campo is currently for sale, ready to be snapped up by the highest bidder.
“This is a very unique opportunity for an investor to own the downtown portion of a small town,” listing agent Conor Brennan told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s a very unique opportunity that doesn’t come around often.”
The 23 residences and 7 commercial properties are currently owned by a Las Vegas investor named John Ray. He has allowed the town to stay mostly frozen in time. The majority of the buildings were built in the 1940s.
Campo is located about 60 miles from the City of San Diego and is home to some 3,000 people. The median household income is about $57,634.
