University of San Diego to Launch New Cybersecurity Training Program

The San Diego region is experiencing a boom in cybersecurity employment and demand for workers is outpacing supply.

There are already 150 cybersecurity firms in San Diego. That figure is expected to grow exponentially. A recent economic report puts the economic impacts of the cybersecurity industry in San Diego at more than $2 billion. The industry impacts 19,660 jobs.

“It's always a challenge. It's a challenging job market to find those people right now because it is such a high need across the board and across every industry,” Andy Haass, Chief Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton, told KGTV

It’s a challenge USD plans to help the local industry meet.
