Vallejo IT Director Takes Job in Concord

Vallejo Information & Technology Director Greg Taylor is moving on amid a shakeup at City Hall.

The Times-Herald reports that Taylor has accepted a position with the City of Concord. His last day on the job was Friday, Sept. 27. Chief Innovation Officer Naveed Ashraf is currently fulfilling Taylor’s duties.

“Greg has a strong background in network operations and security,” said Concord City Manager Valerie Barone said in a statement. “He has been highly commended by his colleagues and peers for his ability to implement projects with limited resources, and we believe he will be a tremendous asset to Concord’s leadership team.”

Taylor, who joined the city in 2007 and was appointed to his current position in 2013, said he was “thankful for the opportunity to help elevate the city’s technology for the benefit of our staff and residents.”

Taylor’s move comes amid other high-level departures. The city will soon have a new police chief and planning & development services director.
