Fires continue to burn across the state of California. Tens of millions remain under red flag warnings, while over a million are without power.
The state’s largest blaze, the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County, had burned 76,825 acres as of Wednesday night and was 45% contained.
In Southern California, at least a dozen fires are burning. These include the Easy Fire in Simi Valley; the Getty Fire in Los Angeles; the Hill Fire in Riverside County; the Palisades Fire; the Mureau Fire in Calabasas; the Castlewood Fire in Orange County; the Dexter Fire in Riverside; the Soledad Fire in Santa Clarita; the Brea Fire in Diamond Bar; and the Old Water Fire in San Bernardino County.
The Saddleridge and Tick fires are now at 97% containment or more.
Both the fires and public safety power shutoffs have resulted in a domino effect of school closures all around California.
Here is a list of all school closures in Ventura County. Most L.A. Unified schools have reopened with the exception of Topanga Elementary, Kenter Canyon Elementary, and Palisades Charter High.
All Sonoma County schools are closed through Friday.
