Former San Leandro Councilman Howard Kerr Passes Away
Former San Leandro City Councilmember Howard Kerr has died at the age of 96, the East Bay Citizen reports. He passed away Jan. 2. Services were held last week.
Kerr was an Urban Renewal Representative for the city of Oakland for over 30 years. He was elected to the City Council in 1992 and served one four-year term. He served eight terms on the Oro Loma Sanitary District Board of Directors, from 1986 to 2015.
“Howard was the consummate gentlemen,” San Leandro Mayor Pauline Russo Cutter told the East Bay Citizen. “He was pleasant whether he agreed with you or not.”
