Westminster Taps Sherry Johnson as Interim City Manager

Westminster has selected Finance Director Sherry Johnson as its next interim city manager. Johnson will replace Eddie Manfro whose retirement was announced last month after more than a decade of service with the city. He had spent the past seven years as its city manager.

Johnson’s contract still needs approval from the city council. That’s expected on Feb. 12. She would assume the role on Feb. 15.

Beyond the retirement of its longtime city manager, Westminster is experiencing its fair share of tumult. Assistant City Manager Chet Simmons is leaving, having accepted the top administrator‘s job in Los Alamitos. Three members of the city council are also facing a recall that could reconfigure the political makeup of the dais.
