I Don’t Know Who Needs to Hear This, But Throw Your Damn Gloves Away
Cities all over are dealing with a new kind of litter bug—the COVID glove shedder, or CGS.
The CGS wears protective gear to Costco, CVS and Trader Joe’s. But instead of throwing their contaminated gloves (or masks) in the trash like a decent human being, they dump them on our sidewalks and shopping carts. This puts our grocery clerks and other essential workers at even greater risk than they already are.
All of our readers are A+ people, so we doubt you need to be told how to handle yourselves in public. But if you need any tips, the experts are happy to provide.
“Keep a little paper bag in your car, throw the stuff in it. Throw it in your garbage when you get home. Life will be better. And then after all this disease is over, maybe you'll still follow the rules,” Sandy Masone told ABC 7 News.
Nurse Kyle Wescot recommends disinfecting them with hand sanitizer first.
Whatever you do, don’t be a CGS. They're the last thing this pandemic needs.
