Laguna Beach City Manager Tests Positive for Coronavirus
Laguna Beach City Manager John Pietig has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-quarantining at home. Pietig participated in Tuesday’s city council meeting remotely.
“I am in good spirits, will continue to work from home and expect to make a full recovery,” he said in a statement.
No other information about Pietig’s diagnosis was immediately available.
“I’m on the phone with him several times a day dealing with various issues,” Mayor Bob Whalen told the Los Angeles Times. “So he’s doing a great job for us and is really on top of everything. The good news is that while he’s got the virus, it’s fairly mild and he’s able to work at 100%.”
