Chula Vista Will soon welcome it’s first female and first Latina city manager. Assistant City Manager Maria Kachadoorian is being promoted to succeed Gary Halbert, who is retiring on June 19.
“Maria has the knowledge, skills and vision we need to move the City forward during these unprecedented times,” said Chula Vista Mayor Mary Casillas Salas in a statement. “She brings to this critical position strong leadership skills, municipal finance acumen, and a passionate commitment to foster positive relationships with employees, residents, as well as with elected, business and community leaders.”
Kachadoorian was born in Tijuana and came to the United States as a baby. She has worked for the city of Chula Vista for 22 years.
