L.A. City Councilman Jose Huizar Arrested on Corruption Charges

Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with a wide-ranging corruption probe involving an alleged pay-to-play scheme with real estate developers.

The arrest comes a year and a half after the FBI raided his home and office and three months after the arrest of former City Councilman Mitch Englander.

Huizar has faced calls to resign and was stripped of committee appointments following the arrest of individuals in his inner circle. He has not attended recent council meetings.

This is a developing story. Read more about the arrest at the Los Angeles Times.
