Body of Missing L.A. Firefighter Located in Mexico

Mexican authorities say they have identified the human remains of missing Los Angeles firefighter Francisco “Frank” Aguilar.

Aguilar went missing in August while vacationing in Rosarito, Mexico. Authorities have arrested a male and female they believe to be responsible for the crime. The two were in possession of Aguilar's credit card when they were apprehended. Aguilar’s disappearance is believed to have been the result of an attempted kidnapping.

“This is a tragic outcome to a case we were hoping would end differently,” LAFD Chief Ralph Terrazas said in a statement. “On behalf of the men and women of the LAFD, we send our deepest condolences to Firefighter Aguilar’s family and we stand ready to assist them in the days to come.”
