West Hollywood Issues Vaccine Mandate for Indoor Businesses
Patrons of indoor restaurants, bars, gyms, spas and other covered businesses in West Hollywood must show proof of vaccination before entering under a new Emergency Executive Order (EEO). The new rules will take effect no later than October 11, 2021.
The EEO was issued by City Manager and Director of Emergency Services David A. Wilson. It affects people aged 18 visiting city facilities and covered businesses.
In addition, indoor businesses “must use their best efforts to ascertain the vaccination status of all staff who routinely work onsite and no later than November 1, 2021, must ensure that all staff who routinely work onsite provide proof of full vaccination before entering or working in any indoor portion of the facility,” the EEO states.
West Hollywood’s vaccine mandate coincides with new federal emergency rules requiring all businesses with 100 or more employees to ensure their workers are fully vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID-19 testing. The sweeping federal mandate was announced by President Biden just one day before West Hollywood’s order and will affect around 100 million people.
