Clovis Promotes Assistant City Manager John Holt
The City of Clovis will have a new city manager at the start of 2022. Assistant City Manager John Holt has been promoted, effective Jan. 1. He takes over for Luke Serpa who is retiring in December.
Holt has worked for Clovis for more than two decades. Before his time as assistant city manager, he served as city clerk and as a management analyst. He was the financial services manager of Visalia for five years and is a US Navy veteran.
“To be honest, I feel like I just won the lottery. I am being entrusted to be the city manager for what I would argue is the best city in California,” Holt said after the city council’s unanimous appointment. “The city of Clovis is a destination of choice for people wanting a great city to live in and a great place for their kids to go to school.”
Mayor Jose Flores called Holt a strong leader with a proven track record in the Fresno County city.
