Glendale Names New Community Development Director
Glendale’s Assistant Director of Community Development Bradley Calvert has been promoted to Director of the department.
Calvert has been with the city for the past four years. He led the adoption of the Economic Development Strategic Plan, Citywide Pedestrian Plan, and an overhaul of the Downtown Specific Plan. He previously served as Community Development Program Manager for the City of Bellevue, Washington.
Calvert has received awards from the American Planning Association, the United States Green Building Council, and the Georgia Transit Association. He holds a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Graduate Certificate in Real Estate from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
“The Community Development Department provides one of the City's most public-facing services. I am confident Bradley is the right person to lead the charge in improving these services for our community and leading the 150+ staff members in the Community Development Department,” said Mayor Ardy Kassakhian.
