Forbes Ranks The Best Cities to Live in California

Forbes Magazine has named Sacramento the best place to live in California.

Take that, Stephen Colbert

“California’s capital city is family-friendly, has ample educational opportunities and offers a reasonable cost of living. Its unemployment rate is among the lowest in the state as government, healthcare and technology are core industries,” according to Forbes.

“Sacramento is also an excellent gateway to the splendors of temperate northern California, while also being two hours from San Francisco. For local leisure activities, there are several professional sports teams, a 32-mile bike trail, breweries and coffee shops.”

Forbes compared cities based on home prices; cost of living; personal income; unemployment community well-being using the ShareCare Community Well-Being Index; and FBI crime rate statistics.

Sacramento was followed by San Diego (#2); San Francisco (#3); Los Angeles (#4); San Jose (#5); Vallejo (#6); Oxnard (#7); Modesto (#8); Fresno (#9); and Bakersfield (#10).
