Clearlake PD veteran Tim Hobbs has become the city’s new police chief, Lake County News reports.
Hobbs, who has been serving as interim chief since December 19, was approved for the permanent position in a unanimous vote by the City Council Thursday.
Hobbs has spent his entire law enforcement career with Clearlake. He joined the department almost two decades ago and most recently held the rank of lieutenant. His contract will run for three years and calls for a base salary of $155,812.80 plus incentive packages.
Clearlake’s last police chief Andrew White recently left for the same position in Martinez.
