Sonoma Selects New City Manager

Sonoma city leaders are expected to approve a contract with David M. Guhin to serve as city manager this week.

The city announced a conditional offer of employment on April 13. The employment agreement will be considered by the city council on April 19. Under the terms, Guhin will be paid $236,000 a year.

Guhin has served as Executive Director of Government Operations for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria since 2020. He previously served as Assistant City Manager for Santa Rosa, with his experience in local government spanning more than 18 years.

"I’m honored that David Guhin has accepted the role of City Manager,” said Mayor Mayor Sandra Lowe. “David’s background, stellar references and knowledge of Sonoma make him the perfect fit.”

Guhin is expected to take over May 8.
