Colma City Manager Brian Dossey to Retire

Brian Dossey’s tenure as Colma City Manager is coming to an end this August. The city announced Dossey’s retirement last month, nearly two decades after he first joined its ranks. He and his wife are moving to Lake Tahoe, according to the city.

“Brian’s 20 years of outstanding service to the Town of Colma will forever be an important part of Colma’s history and will not soon be forgotten,” said Mayor Joanne F. del Rosario. “We understand that change can sometimes be difficult but rest assured that the Council and I will do our very best to make this transition as seamless as possible.”

Dossey was appointed City Manager in 2017. He had previously served as Administrative Services Director, American with Disability Act Coordinator, Safety Committee Chair and Recreation Manager.

A news release listed several of Dossey’s accomplishments, including increased transparency of the budgeting process through partnership with OpenGov; the Town Hall Remodel Project, roadway improvements along Mission Road, and playground upgrades; creation of the Auto Work Group and Cemetery Work Group, the Annual Business Recognition Luncheon, and the CAPE/CERT program; and his success in helping the town manage the COVID-19 pandemic.
