The March 5 primary election is just around the corner and the candidates for the Los Angeles City Council are raising big bucks for a coveted seat on the dais of the State’s largest city.
According to Los Angeles Magazine, former state Assembly member and current District 2 candidate Adrin Nazarian has amassed $541,000 in his war chest as of Sept. 30.
What’s surprising, or perhaps not for some, is that Council member Kevin de León of the now infamous racist audio scandal quartet has raked in $117,000 in the 10 days since he announced his bid for re-election.
Council member Nithya Raman’s re-election to the 4th District has raised $254,000 with several notable celebrity names maxing out their contributions for her this cycle.
In the District 10 race, Assembly member Reggie Jones-Sawyer and incumbent Heather Hutt have each raised more than $175, 000. Hutt has about a $650 lead on Jones-Sawyer.
