Rio Vista, California is known as the heart of the Delta - situated on the Sacramento River, midway between the cities of Fairfield and Lodi, and between San Francisco and Sacramento. With a population of just over 10,000, Rio Vista maintains a relaxed vacation-like atmosphere while being poised for growth and exciting opportunities.
The City provides fire, police (under contract with the County Sheriff), water, and wastewater services to its residents. Current and upcoming projects include the 2045 General Plan update, the addition of a second fire station, and a water/wastewater rate study.
The Rio Vista City Council is seeking an experienced local government executive to fill the City Manager position before the interim contract expires in March 2023. The City Manager is an at-will position that reports to the Mayor and City Council. This individual is accountable for providing strong leadership while modeling core values and guiding principles of integrity, entrepreneurship, leadership, and respect within a complex, customer service centric organization. The annual salary for the position of City Manager is currently $200,000, and the City offers an attractive benefits package.
