Director of Financial Services
Salary: $124,292.00 to $158,634.74 DOQ

The City of Madera is seeking a hands-on, collaborative, and communicative service orientated professional to serve as its Director of Financial Services. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a significant role in a community in the heart of the State of California, located in the rich Central Valley.
The Director of Financial Services is a critical department head position that oversees the City’s utility billing, business licensing, general accounting, expenditure controls, purchasing, investment portfolio management, grants administration, payroll, and fleet services. The principal function is to provide leadership and direct, plan, and oversee all activities and operations of the City’s Finance Department and underlying divisions. The City has a dedicated workforce of approximately 297 full-time employees and a 2022-23 operating budget of approximately $109 million.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Public Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or a closely related field. Five years of broad and extensive experience in professional governmental accounting or financial management, including at least three years as a supervisor or manager is required.
