The City of Ventura is hiring! The City of Ventura Water Department is looking for a skilled utility billing Accounting Assistant/Senior Accounting Assistant to join the team. We are seeking detailed oriented candidates who are dedicated to meeting customer expectations and requirements. The Accounting Assistant/Senior Accounting Assistant will provide front-line customer care and billing support to Ventura Water customers daily. This team member handles a high volume of customer inquiries from open to close and is responsible for providing information and assistance to the public by phone, mail, and computer.  Additionally, this utility billing Accounting Assistant performs detailed clerical billing work involving maintaining and reporting customer accounts.

• reads situations quickly and steps up to handle difficult customer situations
• eliminates roadblocks to handling multiple priorities while maintaining professional composure

Salary and Benefits

The City offers a total compensation package that includes both a generous salary plus excellent benefits!

Salary: $23.11 - $30.88 Hourly
