The City Clerk’s Office in the City of San Leandro is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as Administrative Assistant III
. This exciting opportunity will provide day-to-day administrative and logistical assistance in support of democratic processes such as access to city records, elections, public transparency, and compliance with various federal, state, and local statutes including the Brown Act, the Political Reform Act, and the Public Records Act. Key attributes of a successful candidate include the ability to manage complex scheduling, receive, log, track, and work collaboratively with other departments to resolve various requests and/or claims that are submitted, understand and adhere to critical deadlines, maintain and update several databases, and assist customers, both internal and external. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional customer service, possess strong organizational skills with a penchant for details, demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skills, and exhibit a willingness to take on new challenges. The Administrative Assistant III must be dedicated to communicating effectively and cultivating successful working relationships with others, including staff at all levels, outside stakeholders, and elected officials.
Education and Experience Guidelines:
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be at least two years of relevant, increasingly responsible experience in general administrative support, preferably in the public sector, a high school diploma or certified equivalent (GED), and supplemental course work in office, business or public administration, management and supervision, or a closely-related field.
