Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA)

The Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA) was created by a joint powers agreement (JPA) to provide the Sacramento region with increased flood protection along the American and Sacramento Rivers. Due to a retirement, SAFCA is seeking their next inhouse Agency Counsel (Counsel).  We are looking for an attorney who is licensed to practice law in the state of California and will perform complex legal work for civil and administrative law matters including preparation and rendering of legal opinions, reviewing and advising on Federal, State and municipal law agreements, and complex real estate matters. Ideally, the selected candidate will bring water resource planning knowledge and an understanding of how to work with multiple agencies, sometimes with competing needs, to continue moving towards a shared vision. This candidate possesses the interpersonal and communication skills to successfully work within an agency that is nimble, sets goals and achieves them.
