You'll be responsible for:
Managing the day-to-day operations of the City Manager’s Office, providing leadership and direction for a variety of multi-departmental programs and initiatives; directly supervising professional employees who work on programs including:
o Legislative advocacy
o Environmental sustainability
o Data and performance measurement
o Public arts and placemaking
o Community engagement
o Healthy RC
o Team RC DRIVE - building a workforce that is Diverse, Respectful, Inclusionary, Valued, and Equitable
Oversight of the department’s budget, CIP projects, along with employee relations and departmental and interdepartmental communication across the teams and up to the City Manager and Assistant/Deputy City Manager.
Participating as a member of the City’s department head team.
The robust State and Federal legislative program - resolutely advocating for the City’s interests at the state and federal level by promoting its legislative platform, seeking funding for city priorities, and cultivating positive relationships with the City’s legislative delegation.
Conducting complex and sensitive administrative, operational, and management analyses, studies, and research projects using appropriate research and statistical techniques
Researching, writing, administrating, and reporting on a variety of opportunities for grants and awards
Representing the City in relations with the community, advisory committees, local, state, and federal agencies, and professional organizations
