to join their Executive Leadership Team in a quickly expanding city located in one of the most beautiful and desirable places to live in California. This opportunity is a newly created position to assist with the management of the department, as well as the likely succession plan for the Director’s retirement in the next two years. The ideal candidate is collaborative, transparent, community minded, an exceptional communicator, and has a background working with other municipal organizations, and ideally experience working with development and planning professionals and a technical background with landscape architecture. This is an at-will, executive position that reports directly to the Director of Recreation and Parks and oversees a budget of $9.7 million and has over $15 million in capital improvement projects planned and approved for the next five years. The Recreation & Parks department consists of 44 full-time staff, over 200 part-time seasonal employees, and 200 contract program providers.
