Approximate Annual Base Salary: $114,629 - $139,320
In addition to the base salary, the County offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes: Cafeteria plan (annual amount which is considered the employer’s health benefit contribution and may be used to purchase medical, dental, and vision coverage. Depending on the health plan selected, premiums not paid by the Cafeteria allowance will be the employee’s responsibility through a pre-tax deduction. Unused monies are paid as additional salary), 2% employer contribution to 457b Deferred Compensation plan, 15 vacation days per year, 14 paid holidays, 12 days sick leave per year, 10 administrative leave days per year, 1937 Retirement Act plan with CALPERS reciprocity.
About the position
The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s office is seeking an experienced investigator to fill the vital leadership position of Chief District Attorney Investigator. Serving as the Chief Investigator of the Bureau of Investigations, they will report directly to the District Attorney. The Chief performs administrative and supervisory work in directing the investigative functions of the District Attorney’s Office. The Chief Investigator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the District Attorney Investigators assigned to the Bureau.
The idead candidate
In addition to felony investigations experience, the ideal Chief District Attorney Investigator candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and the capability to effectively direct subordinates in a large division. This position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other law enforcement officials as well as the public. The Chief should have advanced knowledge of civil and criminal laws; techniques, methods, and procedures of crime detection and criminal investigation; and rules of evidence, arrest and court proceedings.
