The City of Oxnard (pop. 200,000+) is located on the beautiful Southern California coast and is the largest city in the County of Ventura. Reporting to the Public Works Director, the City Engineer oversees a team of 48 FTEs and directs and manages Oxnard’s 2022-2027 five-year CIP totaling $700 million. 

Oxnard seeks well-rounded candidates with wide-ranging municipal project experience to serve in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will bring a history of impressive project management and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Leading by example, the City Engineer will also create and maintain a highly professional and accountable culture.

Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or directly related field and six (6) years of professional engineering and/or construction management experience with two (2) years of supervisory experience. Current California Professional Engineer (PE) Registration in Civil Engineering required.
