Located just 55 miles north of San Francisco and 30 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, the City of Santa Rosa (pop. 175,155) is the county seat of Sonoma County, encompassing 41.5 square miles in the heart of Sonoma County’s wine country. The Community Engagement Division Director reports to the Assistant City Manager and leads a team of seven staff responsible for enhancing and organizing civic engagement activities with Santa Rosa residents, connecting community members and interest groups with their local government and leading the Violence Prevention Partnership.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional who understands the value of community participation in local government services and will have extensive experience managing community services and working with community partners. An impressive track record of community engagement as well as sufficient experience with the functions associated with the Community Engagement Division and
a Bachelor’s degree are expected.
