Just northeast of San Francisco, Napa (pop 80,416) is renowned as the seat of California’s winemaking region and a premier culinary destination.  Rolling hills, vineyards, and ideal weather backdrop a dynamic city. The Public Works team is 83 staff across six divisions.  It manages a robust citywide Capital Improvement Program (CIP).  The Council approved an initial 5-year CIP funded with a 25-year sales tax, bringing approximately $8 million to the city annually, dedicated to streets, roads, sidewalks and other capital projects.  
The ideal candidate will understand techniques to manage, schedule and monitor multiple engineering projects on time and within budget.  A collaborative leader with well-rounded communication skills to work with client departments, the public/community and intra-department staff is essential.
The position requires at least four years of progressively responsible experience performing construction management and/or inspection, including supervisory responsibilities. Candidates possessing a bachelor’s degree and a California Professional Engineering License may be appointed as Construction Manager-PE, with an annual salary range of $108,799-$131,434.  Without an Engineering License, the annual salary range for Construction Manager is $106,646-$128,851.  Napa offers a very attractive benefits package.
