The City Attorney's Office is seeking a well-qualified individual to fill one advisory vacancy handling civil advisory matters including: legal research and advice on a wide range of general municipal law topics, knowledge of open meeting laws and parliamentary procedures, and review and drafting of contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and legislation. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in municipal law, interest in City Attorney work, and transactional work in areas including but not limited to: real estate, personnel, conflict of interest, municipal finance, housing and economic development, public works, Public Records Act, and Municipal Utilities.
Possession of an appropriate law degree from an accredited college or university that entitle a candidate to sit for the California Bar Examination. Two years of professional legal experience in a public agency setting is desirable.
· Valid California driver's license.
· Current member of the California State Bar Association (in good standing).
