  • Assist the Department in completing reorganization (Adopted by the City Council - 11/2/20);
  • Assist the Department with the merger of two departments to form the Community & Library Services Department with our new tagline of “Discover, Play, Connect as One HB.” Manage daily operations of a minimum of three divisions within Community & Library services as assigned;
  • Assist the City with approval and delivery of Park Development projects, as well as the Parks and Recreation Master Plan update;
  • Assist the Department with hiring, training, and staff development programs;
  • Manage the Department in the absence of the Director of Community & Library Services; and
  • Represent the Department with City Council, boards and commissions, and regional groups as necessary.

Competitive candidates will possess at least four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience related to municipal recreation programming, human services, cultural services, library services or education administration, including two (2) years’ progressively responsible community and/or library services administrative and supervisory experience.  A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, or other closely related field.  A Master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
