The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking an innovative and proactive Deputy Human Resources Director with a positive, forward-thinking perspective who will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing various aspects of human resources functions.
The Deputy Human Resources Director will lead the development and implementation of human resources programs and oversee the Department’s operational service to the organization across a full range of areas which may include talent development, performance management, recruiting, benefits administration, employee and labor relations, classification and compensation, risk management, employee safety and health, workers’ compensation, and policy development. Working with the Human Resources Director, the Deputy will also plan, organize, and direct the work of department staff.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public or business administration, risk management, or a closely related field and seven years of increasingly responsible professional human resources experience including two years of supervisory, administrative, and/or project/program development and management experience. Experience in a local government setting is highly desirable. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Class C driver’s license is required.
