Position Description:  Under administrative direction, the Director of Community Development plans, manages, oversees and directs the operations and services of the City’s Community Development Department including Planning, Building and Safety, Code Enforcement, and Fire Prevention. The Community Development Director also provides complex staff assistance to the Planning Commission and the City Council.

Education and Experience:  The City is looking for individuals with the equivalent of five years of increasingly responsible experience in urban or regional planning, including two years in a supervisory or management capacity, and a bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning or a related field. A master’s degree in urban planning, public administration or business administration may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience. 

Licenses/Certificates:  Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver's license. AICP designation is highly desirable.
