The County of El Dorado seeks a bold and progressive, collaborative leader with a reputation for
integrity and fairness, to lead the Human Resources Department. This position creates and devises
innovative and transformative HR policies, programs, and systems. While it can be challenging it is
also exciting requiring almost constant process improvement.
Reporting to the Board of Supervisors and Chief Administrative Officer, the Director is an at-will
position overseeing the Talent Acquisitions, Risk Management, Labor Relations, Benefits, and

The ideal candidate: The next Director will be a proven leader in HR and a skilled administrator who introduces creative strategies and
approaches to the Department and the County. The ideal candidate will be committed to improving performance
and processes, be tenacious and able to move past obstacles to accomplish goals, possess a leadership style that
successfully facilitates change initiatives, and will develop and implement effective solutions to the most pressing
issues facing the HR Department and County. This person will be approachable and demonstrate emotional
intelligence and be an open communicator who is committed to mentoring and developing the professional
capacity of the HR staff. The Director will be a strategic business partner with a customer and solution-oriented
mindset, drive results, and help set and achieve challenging goals for the HR department. The Director will also be a
strong relationship builder and have a collaborative spirit in working with Elected Officials and department
directors, the County Administrator’s Office, and the Board of Supervisors.
What we offer: Salary $149,448 to $181,667 Annually.
