Serving a residential population of 141,000 and a daytime population of 250,000, Pasadena is located 10 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Services are delivered through eight fire stations.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and highly engaged leader who is capable of uniting people through a passion for service and commitment to quality outcomes. He/she will be a decisive professional with a proclivity for action who can build and sustain momentum around departmental priorities. Competitive candidates will offer well-rounded industry experience that reflects a strong background in operations and at least five years of management, supervisory or administrative experience, including a minimum of three years as a supervisor, along with a Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree and experience in an urban department will be considered favorably.
