$1,500 lump sum July 2023 & 2024
Additional 2% COLAs July 2023, January 2024, July 2024, & January 2025
5% incentive pay for Masters Degree

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Parks Manager is the management level class responsible for directing the activities of a variety of parks services including the maintenance, repair and development of City parks, sport fields, landscaped areas, street medians, and related facilities and programs. The Parks Manager will oversee a maintenance division responsible for 10 parks and a total of 159 acres of park space; the cross-city trail system; and various landscape maintenance zones maintained both with City staff as well as through contract services.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Education: 4 years experience in the construction, maintenance and improvement of parks and landscaped areas including 2 years experience as a lead worker or supervisor, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Licenses: A valid class C California driver’s license is required and possession or ability to obtain a valid Pesticide Applicators License issued by the State Department of Agriculture.

EXAMINATION PROCESS
Only those applicants who meet the qualification standards of this position by the application filing deadline will be allowed to participate in the examination process. Examination scores determine standing on Civil Service eligibility lists. The City Manager, upon recommendation of the department head, will make the final selection and appointment from the established eligibility list.
The examination process may consist of the following parts: Application Package Review: Qualifying Only; Oral Interview 100% Weight Value. Candidates must earn a score of 70% or higher to be considered for the eligibility list.
