Supervising Planners assign, review and evaluate the work of subordinates, work with a variety of County departments, commissions, and advisory groups, and assist management with reports, data and other correspondence. In addition, Supervising Planners act as project leaders, and may also work independently on major planning programs.

Within this dynamic, we are a passionate group of planners, eagerly seeking a compatible team member to evolve and learn alongside us as we navigate community planning. Additionally, the Planning Division is embarking on a comprehensive three-to-five-year initiative to update the county's general plan. As advocates of ongoing learning, we wholeheartedly encourage our planners to actively engage in events and activities organized by the American Planning Association. While our work is demanding, it presents an invaluable chance to immerse oneself in cutting-edge planning initiatives. If you're ready to embrace challenges, committed to community development, and possess the expertise to strategize for valleys, foothills, and the iconic Sierra mountains, we invite you to consider becoming a vital part of our team. Your contribution will enable us plan for our extraordinary region, Placer County.
