Salary:
$175,000 - $195,000 (DOQ/DOE)

The City of Hemet, California seeks a Public Works Director/City Engineer that is a proven leader and experienced professional with a passion for delivering high-quality services to carry out the critical functions of the Public Works Department. The ideal candidate will understand how to lead the activities of the Public Works/Engineering Department, including oversight of 58 public works staff, 5 engineering staff, and the major divisions of: public works administration, engineering, equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, lighting & landscape maintenance district, parks, stormwater program, streets, trash & recycling, and water/wastewater.

Minimum Qualifications:
Eight years of recent, continuous, progressively responsible professional engineering experience, including three years at the mid-management/supervisory level in a professional engineering and/or public works organization.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Registration as a professional engineer in Civil Engineering in the State of California at time of appointment.
Possession of a Class C California Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
