Public Works Supervisor (Pavement Maintenance Section)

We are accepting applications for the position of Public Works Supervisor. The current vacancy is in the Pavement Maintenance Section. The Public Works Supervisor for the pavement maintenance section is responsible for planning and supervising the work activities related to the repair and preventive maintenance of public right of way, including but not limited to pavement (concrete and asphalt) and sidewalks; involving replacement, repair, patching, and sealing. This position is also responsible for providing contract management in the Public Works Department.

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated lead or supervisory experience overseeing maintenance crews. This person will be a team player and proven success in motivating and developing staff.   We are looking for a person passionate about their career and will bring new ideas to the position.  This person will have proven experience in pavement maintenance with an ability to troubleshoot and overcome issues as they arise.  The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and able to effectively utilize a work management system to accomplish projects on schedule. 

The Public Works Supervisor classification is a first-line supervisory position in the Public Works Department.  The supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight, supervision, and evaluation of an employee work unit, functioning independently while exercising considerable independent judgment and making sound decisions.  

Salary and Benefits

The City offers a total compensation package that includes both a generous salary plus excellent benefit! Salary: $68,870.46 - $92,286.90 Annually DOQ.


A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree in a related area and two years of related experience in the assigned area, OR an Associate's degree and four years of related experience, OR six years of related experience. One year lead or supervisory experience is required.

Pavement Maintenance Section: The possession of or ability to obtain an International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Work Zone Traffic Control Safety certificate within six months of employment is required.
