The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one at-will, full-time position in the class of Risk Manager/Safety Officer in the Human Resources Office.

Come join the Yolo County HR team! We are looking for an experienced manager to perform the full range of duties assigned to the Risk Manager/Safety Officer. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources and working closely with the HR partners, the Risk Manager/Safety Officer will function as the subject matter expert on risk and safety matters, liability claim management, and the worker’s compensation process. This position also works closely with external agencies and the legal department.
The ideal candidate will be
- Experienced and comfortable in their knowledge of the industry and current risk and safety laws and regulations in California.
- Able to lead County efforts to update and enhance risk and safety policies, rules and regulations.
- A positive, customer focused collaborator, self-directed in their day-to-day tasks and an excellent communicator.
- Attentive to detail and possess high analytical skills.
Salary Range: $109,512.00 - $133,099.20 Annually

Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene or a related field;
AND four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in risk management (liability, property and claims management), worker compensation and safety/loss prevention activities including at least two years in a supervisory or management capacity.
Certification: Possession of an Associate Risk Manager (ARM) certificate from the Insurance Institute of America (IIA) is desirable.
License: Positions in this classification require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical or mental disability may request a reasonable accommodation.
