Park Ranger (Full-Time)
Salary: $4,627 - $6,513 Monthly
Park Ranger (Part-Time)
Salary: $26.69 - $32.44 Hourly
The Park Ranger (Full-Time & Part-Time) interacts with City residents, business owners and visitors on City streets, parks, beaches and trails in the approved City uniform. This position is part of the Neighborhood Enhancement Team (N.E.T.) and advises residents, businesses and visitors of City, County and State ordinances which may include littering, smoking in public, possessing alcoholic beverages, and other disturbance related violations. This position is considered a peace officer. Park Rangers will be tasked with addressing special neighborhood programs, which require problem solving, community engagement and enforcement actions. These responsibilities include implementation of neighborhood enhancement team goals and working to improve quality of life issues through a collaborative effort, and other special duty assignments and work assigned as required. This position is supervised by a Police Sergeant, Corporal or Watch Commander. The objective of this position is to gain compliance by being visible and dealing with the public in a positive, effective and courteous manner. Some situations will involve the Park Ranger notifying law enforcement to respond and assess the matter for potential arrest(s). Requires graduation from high school. Related college level coursework or possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is highly desirable. Previous law enforcement experience or other relevant work experience, including extensive public contact, is also highly desirable. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis.
