“Peaceful Racist Group” Denied Permit for Straight Pride Rally in Modesto

A group calling itself the National Straight Pride Coalition has been denied a permit for a rally celebrating heterosexuality in Modesto. The decision came Wednesday after a raucous meeting at City Hall.

The group’s leader was there to defend his organization from a number of charges, including racism. So the room burst out in guffaws when he inadvertently referred to it as “a peaceful racist group.”

The video above from the Sacramento Bee is a must-see. One council member began laughing so hard that she had to bury her face in the palm of her hand and turn her chair away from the crowd.
